Dogs on Thursday!

So, for this weeks Dogs on Thursday post I wanted to share some cute pictures. :)

Special K and I have been sleeping on a full bed for sometime now. We do not fit that great and rarely have good nights of sleep. We decided to go splurge and buy a new bed. We headed over to Sam's Club with my sister CZBrat, who is a member and checked out their beds. We laid on all the different mattresses and decided on one. We got a great deal and were so excited. We brought it home and set it up and guess who was the first to break it in?

Of course Abigail!! Isn't she just too cute being caught on the bed!!

After that...you know who of course took her lead and tested it out as well. It's a bit high for him and his arm but he makes it up and gets down fine. I have a feeling we may need to get him stairs later in life because of his bad elbow and his arthritis. But he is just too cute!!! He knows there is more room but hasn't tried to get up and sleep with us yet.

Well, I hope everyone has been good. I've been knitting away at my sweater and separated for the sleeves last night. I'm hoping to get a ton of knitting done this weekend. :) Special K will be up visiting his mom and family for a wedding this weekend so I will miss him loads.

Happy Knitting and Dogs on Thursday!!

The rippin truth!

A mistake was made in my Lady February Sweater. It was made way back when I was making the raglan increases on the yoke. I didn't notice or realize until I was starting the lace pattern. ugh. So I decided that I was going to rip back. I consulted the greatness that is www.knittinghelp.com and found a video which helped me so much. It's the video on how to insert your needle before ripping back! Oh my gosh is it awesome!!

So here's the picture of me inserting my needle where I thought I had to rip back to. :) Note the thought!!

This is what was left after this part. ;)

So, I nicely wound that into a ball and counted stitches. UGH...I was off by 9 stitches. I thought I could just fudge the numbers but you know it's my first sweater so I didn't think I wanted to do that so I decided to insert my needle further down the knitting and rip back more. So I did that and then I counted again. This time I figured out I was only 2 stitches short and I counted between increases and found where my stitches were missing. I was then able to add those stitches on the next row and continue my raglan increases. As of last night I was here.

You can tell that Jackjack was there for support. So was Special K. He was playing a new fishing video game. :) I'm glad I can now proceed to knit away and hopefully I'll make some real progress now. I've vowed to count every couple rows though! ;)

Happy Monday and Happy Knitting!!

Happy Blogoversary to me!!

I can't believe I almost missed my 1 year blogoversary!! I can't believe I've been blogging for a year and I have posted 239 times. I think that blogging has been one of my favorite things to do and I've met a lot of people through my blog. I'm glad you guys have stuck around!! This past week has been a bit busy at work so I haven't had much time to post and when I got home all I wanted to do was sleep or knit. ;) Well..I'll try to post more often as I usually do. I hope you guys have enjoyed a year of me blogging.

Come to think of it that means that I've been knitting for a year now too. Wow, what knitting and blogging has brought me is such a long list I'm not sure I could even start but I enjoy both. I hope you guys stick around for another year of my knitting projects and tales from Jackjack and Abigail!

Hope everyone is doing well. Don't forget to do what you love and love what you do!!

God bless you all!

Happy Knitting!!

Dogs on Thursday and a Stash enhancement!

I've been a bad blogger this week but this week has been super busy at work. I actually went to the Wed night SnB and my friend Sheryl got back in town so had to spend a knit catching up with her. But today I came home to this lovely site!!
So I simply had to blog!! It's my order of Dream in Color Classy in Midnight Derby from SonnyandShear.com!! It's for my first sweater the February Lady Sweater!!
It's the color beautiful!!
Well...I've decided that I have to finish the clapotis that I have on the needles before I cast on so I'm off to frantically knit and finish it so I can wind the skeins into balls and cast on tonight!! So this is got to be quick!!But since it's thursday I must put pictures up for DOT!! Sorry it's so short but don't forget to go over and check out the Dogs on Thursday blog!! We gave them sit stay and look at me another try. :) It's getting better!! :)

Have a great night and HAPPY knitting!!!

Dogs on Thursday!

Just a quick Dogs on Thursday post with pictures and video. :)

This is a picture to show you that my dogs live in luxury. They take over the bed and make themselves as comfortable as possible. :)
Again...it doesn't even matter if we are in the bed. :)
This is an old video I found on my phone of the dogs playing together. Rico is my old landlord's dog. We were dog sitting and he sat on the bed and watched the show. :)

video

This next one is Abigail swimming with her new friend Buddy, a golded/lab mix who is not neuter yet, at our friend's house. Abigail quickly put this 1 yr old pup in his place and made sure he stayed away from her butt and then she swam. It was so funny to see the two get along. He would come up to her and she would bare her teeth and bark and he would run off just to come back. They played again last night and she has stopped barring her teeth and now trusts that he will not try to mount her. :) (Jackjack has not met him and won't until Buddy is neutered because Jackjack picks on entact dogs.)

And last but not least...Abby playing with her daddy while he is playing Guitar Hero. She loves him. :)

Hope you enjoyed my montage of pictures and videos.

Happy Dogs on Thursday!!

Wedding Wednesday on Thursday!

A lot to share today. First off we have decided not to have our wedding reception at the bar we originally decided on. The St. Pete Bowl game changed their time and it became too difficult for it to work out. So, we started looking last week at where to have our reception and found a couple places on the beach. Then we started thinking that if we decided on a place on the beach then we should have the ceremony on the beach because otherwise we would have to drive at least 30 minutes from the church to the reception site. So, we looked and looked and called and called and found a place we really like. It's a Lion's Club "Beach" House. :) It's right on the beach and the building is perfect. We are going to have our ceremony on the beach and then have the festivities at the House. There is a nice back patio and the inside is big enough to fit our party. I'm really excited about it. We are putting the deposit down this evening. YEAH for that. So, now we are starting to look at caterers and vendors to rent things from. My list got longer but my family especially my sisters are stepping up and helping out a ton. I'm really grateful for them. So, we are replanning the wedding but I'm just happy I have help and I'm being open to all suggestions.

We met with the Pastor last week and he gave us some good suggestions for music and for the sand ceremony. I contacted the person he suggested and hopefully will hear back soon. We need to get most the details sorted out so we can start the invitation.

Ok..well that's the planning and now I get to share an FO! Yes, I finished, well, almost still need to weave in ends and block but the knitting is done on my WEDDING SHAWL!! YES, I finished it! I'm so happy with it. I made it a couple rows shorter than the pattern because I felt I was short and didn't want it to be too long and I think it will be perfect after some blocking.

So what do you think??

Wedding Shawl

Wedding Shawl DONE!!

Cast on: 3/5/08
Finished: 6/30/08 at almost midnight. I stayed up to finish!
Pattern: Summer Lace Shawlette by Sandi Wiseheart (Ravelry link)
Yarn: di.Ve' Zenith in white
Comments: I'm glad that ripped back the times I did and I really like how easy and fast the pattern was. I recommend to anyone looking for a nice quick shawlette. Couldn't wait to take a picture and took pic in my glasses and pjs. :)

Now that I've finished I'm just waiting for SonnyandShear.com to get the yarn I want to order and then I'm going to cast on my first sweater!! YEAH!!

Happy Wedding Wednesday! Hope you are all doing well.
