My birthday weekend....well...Frankie.

So...my birthday weekend started out great. Saturday, I went to brunch with some friends, my nieces and my sisters. It was great and then that afternoon, Kenny and I decided to take the pups to the park to go for a walk. We piled them into the back of my Xterra like we usually do. We cracked the windows just enough for Jackjack to get his head out and went on our way. Half way there, Frankie some how stepped on the window control, rolled down the window and jumped out of the moving car! It was INSANE! I can't tell you the details because they are still fuzzy but we stopped, he came to me and I grabbed him and realized he was bleeding from all four paws. To make a long story short, we rushed him to the ER vet and they bandaged him up. He has to have all four paws bandaged. He doesn't have any broken bones and thank God he's alive! The experience was one of those lessons you never want to learn this way.
He also has to wear these plastic IV bags when he goes out if it's wet because if the bandages get wet we have to take him in to get them replaced right away. He's not a fan of these.
I have learned that I MUST have the child locks on and that Frankie must be restrained and watched at all times in the car. I still can't believe it happened and even though it was an accident, it's hard not to blame myself for not being more vigilant. He's healing slowly and we have to have his bandages changed every 2 days for a while. They said the back ones will take longer to heal becuase they are worse than the front. He's in good spirits even though he's become a bit of a whiner because he is not a fan of the e-collar.
Thank you for all of the kind words and prayers. It's been a crazy and emotional weekend. I promise to keep you posted on how he is doing.

Well...I have more fibery and doggie pictures to share with you but I wanted to get this post up before it's been to long. I'm off to watch the Office and My Boys with my hubby and cuddle with the pups...oh by the way which I found out that I'm allergic to dogs today! HAHAHA It's funny because I am fine around my dogs and most dogs and that nothing will change other than I'll be adding dog to my allergy shots! Crazy though! Me allergic to dogs. :) hehehe

Ok...off to watch tv, knit and get some sleep. Tomorrow is my first day back to work after 5 days off...going to be a rough one!

Dogs on Thursday! Also my Birthday. :)

The other day the rain started and we had not had rain in a while and were in desperate need of it. Kenny and I both love the rain. We both love watching it and listening to it. So, when it started raining we headed for our screened in back porch and sat and watched the rain come down...like our sand pit?
The dogs naturally thought they were going to go outside and came with us...but quickly realized that the back yard was not an option. Jackjack decided to pout...

Abby thought this was a great time to get some loving. :) Her eyes are weird in this picture!
Frankie hid...so here is some video of him and his bone to make up for the lack of his picture. :)

and more..

I have decided that Frankie is a chewer. He has gotten a hold of several items of clothing and chewed holes in them and he grabs everything he can and chews. Nothing major yet. So...I am thinking my household needs lots more nylabones and chewy toys. These kongs are not enough. :)

He also loves playing with Abby! So much so that they are almost constantly playing. It has given Jackjack some rest but Jackjack has been starting to act weird. Not sure why or really how but he's been acting a bit strange lately.

Hope you have a great DOT and please go over and check out the other DOT posts! I'm excited that my birthday falls on a Dogs on Thursday this year! hehehe

Catch up and a knitted hat FO!

Ok...sorry I have been MIA lately. I've been super busy and just distracted. My state of mind lately has been distracted. :) Big shock right? Ok...there has been knitting, spinning, and doggie stuff....but no blogging or podcasting. For this I am sorry. Here's my first blog back and I promise to podcast on Friday! I'm taking Friday and Tuesday off because tomorrow I turn 29!! Yes. It's my birthday! I was born on May 21st, 1980 in Panama.

So, since we are talking about my birthday...I guess I can tell you my weekend plans. :) Tomorrow night for my actual day, Kenny is taking me to our favorite sushi restaurant! We haven't been in a LONG time so I'm very excited! I already know what rolls I'm ordering! Then Friday I am off from work! YEAH!! So, my plan is to record a podcast, visit my friend and her baby, and craft! If my other friend is feeling better by Friday, my plan is to go over her house and we are going to spin and drink pina coladas...it may have to become a hot drink if the weather stays rainy and chilly. :) Than Friday night, I'm going to see my nephew's band concert and then we are having cake for my niece.

Saturday, I've planned a girls brunch for my birthday with my sisters, nieces and some friends. We are going to this breakfast place by the beach. The rest of the day I'm not sure about...I know at some point sat or Sunday I plan to have cake with my family for my birthday. I'm not allowed to share Surfer girls cake so we have to have two days of cake this weekend. :) Surfer girl's birthday was last weekend but the family was in Orlando watching my cousin's husband do the half iron man. :)

Ok...so there is a run down of my birthday weekend! Tuesday I'm taking off because I am doing an allergy test. I have decided to go on allergy shots so I can control them better so I have to do the test first. ugh! It will be the third one I've done in my life....it will be interesting to see what I'm still allergic to.

I just got back from knit night and I had a great time! We had a small group and one of my friends for my guild joined us and it was great having her!

Ok...so...because this is a knitting blog...I have an FO to share!! I finished the hat I was knitting for my sister Felicia out of my hand spun. The black is hand spun merino and the other yarn is the BFL in the Felicia colorway I bought from yummyyarn.etsy.com. It was YUMMY!! I used the Turn a Square pattern by Jared Flood. I really liked this pattern! The yarn was way more bulky that I thought so I had to cast on a couple times with less and less stitches each time and it was still a bit big but VERY warm!

Here is me with my glasses...I don't normally wear them much but here you go anyway. :)

Then I called my sister so she could come try it on...sorry no picture of her with it on...but here is Surfer Girl, her daughter with it on.
And then her son Crazy boy!
and I had to include this picture of her husband, who is hungry and ready to go eat dinner! :)Ok...there is some knitting and a small catch up about my life! I will post another post tomorrow with DOGGIES!! and maybe get some sheep fiber pictures up! I did recieve the sheep fleece from the WI sheep farmer. All 27 lbs of it!! I love it!! I'll tell you more later!

The weekend, the dogs, and Special K's great-grandma

This weekend flew by!! First it started with picking up Frankie from the vet on Friday...you would have NEVER known he just got neutered. He was a ball of energy and ready to play. I did my best at keeping him calm. While in the room waiting for them to bring him to me...I saw this painting!
I don't think I have mentioned this before but I LOVE Norman Rockwell. He is one of my favorite painters and the best exhibit I have ever been to was in San Diego with my dad.

When I got home Friday night, I stayed home until Frankie settled down, then ran over to my sister G's house for dinner. Chicken Salad! Yummy!

Saturday morning, I had a spinning meet-up in Largo. We had another great turn out and I got a lot of spinning done! Then I came home and spent the afternoon catching up on tv shows and waiting for Special K to get back from a fishing tournament...I then met them over his dad's house for some dinner. The fresh fish was yummy!

Sunday was spent on the couch, watching movies and shows with Special K, eating, spinning, and knitting! It was a great day. The sad part of the day was when we found out that SK's great grandma passed. She was 94 and had been sick for a while but it was still sad that she passed. SK flew up on Monday night and will be there until Thursday. I miss him.

Now...doggie pictures. So, Jackjack has been really tolerant of Frankie. When I was knitting in bed watching SK pack on sunday night the following occured.

Frankie started like this....as he usually likes to lay....
Boys will be boys
Then he ended up like this and stayed this way for a long while. :) It was cute!
How cute.
Last night while I was laying in bed, binding off my sister's shawl...The three dogs figured there was enough room for all of them.

Well...I hope you liked this packed drive by post! I miss Kenny but I'm really glad he's with his family right now. I just wish I was there with them.

I hope everyone is doing well...and keeping busy! My pack sends their love!
